Under a relentless July sun, a poacher pursues Zara through a sea of wheat, a coiled rope hanging from his belt. She deftly trips him with her scythe, then plunges his own hunting knife deep into his gut as he struggles. The field devours his last convulsion, and Zara departs without a glance back.
